Poetry Internship Application

GASHER Journal is now offering year-long positions as a reader for our online publication! This position will be for the duration of the 2021 cycle of GASHER's online publication. Please note, this is an unpaid position. The internship is open for both students and non-students, established and emerging writers. The deadline for this application is May 31st!


Duties include:

  • Reading and voting on poetry submissions for 4 online issues of GASHER within set deadlines.

  • Communication with editor regarding final selections.

  • Reviewing poetry books from outside small presses.

Please refer to the guidelines below for application:

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

  • Please read the attached editing sample and submit your vote on whether you would select these pieces for publication or not.

  • Please include a 150-300 word reasoning as to why you made the selection you did.

  • Please provide a brief cover letter stating why you want to come be a part of GASHER Journal and any other credentials.
